Jack lived in
the Nelson province of New Zealand close to the centre
of the artistic work of the region and Nelson is the
centre of New Zealand. Surrounded by a mixture of
craftsman, artisans and natural beauty aid Jack in his
drawing out the wonders of the world he lives in. The
minds perception of our world differs for all and Jack
adds a translation of his perception to most of his work
via the words embedded into the border of the images.
These words are added below each picture on this web
page. Jack gets much pleasure out of capturing a memory
and continuing its life in a medium which too easily
becomes only 2 dimensional. He hopes that others can see
and experience that which he feels when he presses the
shutter or writes the words. Jack now lives in Hawkes
Bay. |

"Mapua Dawn" The start of today. What will tomorrow bring? Yesterday is gone and forgotten. At the break of day we look forward - we have hope. Our cup is over half full. To see the sun awakening is to see a new birth and it happens every day. This is the part that no other buggar has stuffed up, nor even ourselves. Living at Mapua, most of my days start this way. "Her Walnut Tree" These branches remind me of the way other's lives impress upon ours, the interactions and influences. Some people are clearly, tangibly there and others not so immediately present but never the less there. They make our lives fuller. This photograph is for Jan and Ron. I thank their daughter who owned the tree for the introduction. And I thank Diane for giving me the courage to publish it. JACK's PHOTOS |

Our deepest fear
is not that we are inadequate. |

"Fossil Point" Taken during the day of the "Collingwood Dusk". The birdlife on Farewell Spit was so numerous but the newness of the camera left me short with many opportunities. Fortunately this point and others further south make for timeless memories of not just our age. JACK's PHOTOS |

In my soul searching I determined I
needed to love and to live as if this day was my
last day. To make every day matter, not in a morbid way, but in a way to get the most passion and love out of each day. Hugs and kisses are tangible manifestation of the emotion of love. Reach out and touch those that are precious to you for the pure pleasure of being loved. It will help a spluttering candle wick become a blazing fire. M C Jack JACK's PHOTOS |

"Character Traits" The character of a person is formed by the experiences of their life moulding the essential being. Those that make the most impression on our lives are often those who are unbalanced with strong leanings in a particular direction. We may or may not like them with their strong traits. “Our Time” We live our lives with expectations and hopes, many of us have dreams and we all want to be happy. We have read as children, fairy tales with happy endings, yet few of us are fortunate enough to have that experience. I have met a girl called Marie and my life has encompassed a fairy tale. But it is in the reality of life that I most have the benefit. I have been given a gift in her pureness and gentle loveliness, and I am of an age that I can fairly appreciate Marie. I have shown her these falls and we share each others secrets and love. This is our time. This photo is for Marie. JACK's PHOTOS |
|||||
"Primal Evidence on a West Coast Beach" Earth, sky and water, basics of our world. Tire tracks and footprints, temporary marks. The rawness of our natural world impresses upon our perception a magnitude more than the results of our efforts. We know that these basics will prevail and wipe out the marks we make. JACK's PHOTOS |
|||||
"A Green Hedgehog with No Head” Reaching the target we aim for does not always make the goal, yet amongst the apparent disappointment we can find better prizes. Perhaps the rewards are in a different realm and even the journey can be more satisfying than the destination. A recent 3 hour walk to a high hill presented a selected target, overgrown with no view. Sadly, I reassessed and decided on a close knoll. I found a wonderland which tickled and satisfied my senses greater than the panoramic view could have. My older daughter gave me the title, this was the best reward. JACK's PHOTOS |
|||||
“Cycles of Life” Each entity has its own unique start and finish yet this is only one cycle in many for us, we see so many daily cycles we easily loose sight of the magic of them until we come to the realisation that our time is limited. Look now while you still have many days left, while your time is unknown. JACK's PHOTOS |

“Wakapuaka Awakening” |
|||||
That time
between the dead of sleep and the life of awake. That
time between when we do not know the truth of our
perceptions. The time between when the dreams and
reality merge, we are confused. The time between and we
never know but have been told which is reality. But is
the awake really the reality or is the dream of sleep
the true reality. Are we the dream?. JACK's PHOTOS |
